Caergate Janus, Turnpike and Viledon

Now I’ll cover the battlefields. First off:

Caergate:

Is the disputed territory (PvP zone) for levels 23-29. Inside you have daily quests called “Escort the Engineer” (just called Naomi by everyone) that requires you to escort Naomi from FK base to where she works. Bear in Mind, the RG can (and will) attack your run. Always be on your toes.

The second main daily quest is: the ‘supply convoy’ (just referred to as Hera). It runs at 40 after every hour, so it’s a once and hour quest. As with Naomi, the RG can, and will, attack it.

Various other quests will range from:

Killing scarabs

Killing Brawlers

Killing Scorchers

Killing Augmented Scarabs

Killing Mechs.

Each quest gives out Rank Points and items ranging from enhancement stones to CP vials. These are useful to do. This is a map

Janus:

Is a 15-19 and 21-28 battleground. It’s a small area consisting of a FK and RG base and three towers. Taking down the towers results in anything from enhancement stones, and gold, to rare mechs and other items. Depending on the group you’re with, this might be something they attack…or something you. Bear in mind, they take a while to destroy and the RG will be trying to get it too.

Here’s a map:

Turnpike:

Is a 24-29 battleground. There’s ones for people over 30 but that doesn’t include us. It’s larger than Janus and the rewards are better. Unique mech’s have dropped from the chests. There are three chests and both sides try to break them first and foremost before going into PvP.

Scarlet Blade Game Guide Whipper, Defender and Shadow Walker

Now we move onto the last three classes. We’ll start with the Whipper.

Whipper:

Whipper is a tanky class. Built right, she can charge the RG base and the front lines and survive. By nature of her whip, she can take one more than one monster or enemy at the time. Whipper’s have very little difficulty soloing Bitterstone Core or any other dungeon.

Pros:

High HP and Defense
• Good damage
• Debuffs
• Ranged hooking and stun skill (Hooks in the target then stuns them, lethal against ranged characters)
• Mid-ranged and Melee class
• AoE Silence and Melee AoE burning
• Defense buffs (Second-best defense skill in game)
• Crowd control
• Fastest grinder and farmer
• Best in PvP/Battlegrounds at early levels

Cons:

Not as good late-game, but can gain lots of kills from burning
• Not really a tank class
• Disadvantaged against ranged classes because it is a melee class

Be sure to invest in your passive HP and Defense. It’ll save your life on the battlefield.

Defender:

Pros:

• Highest HP and Defense (Tank Class)
• Ranged Stun
• Debuffs and Silence
• HP and Defense buffs, as well as a attack buff that takes away hp per second.
• One of the best end-game PvP classes

Cons:

• Average damage
• Melee class, can be taken down easily from a distance if there is no medic to support you, or your def/hp isn’t high
• Useless at tanking and killing at lower levels/unfunded
• Can be killed if kited and unexperienced

A downright nasty character to meet in Melee battles. If you’re a SW, keep going…don’t mess with this meatshield.

Shadow Walker:

The sneakiest of the classes out there. When played correctly, she is a unrivalled killing machine. However, she requires someone who is sneaky and cunning to properly use her and her skills.

Pros:

• High evasion
• Stealth
• High attack and crit/crit attack in stealth
• Deadly to ranged classes
• Debuffs
• AoE Silence and Stun
• Lots of evasion, accuracy, critical and move speed buffs that are OP

Cons:

• Low hp/defense (to be confirmed)
• Stealth is useless against Sentinels with passive stealth detection
• Will be ganked once stealth is off in battlegrounds

The combination of gear and skills are the key to making a SW good. A good combination is:

(Combo for Sentinel Only and those who have 3.8k HP below)
Secret Charge> Twilight Explosion>Flare>Shadow Dance>Fatal Thrust>Death Blow>Slaughter>Crippler>Hack and Slash

(Combo for all Character that doesn’t have sight and those who have 4k hp above)
Flare>Shadow Dance>Fatal Thrust>Death Blow>Slaughter>Secret Charge> Twilight Explosion>Crippler>Hack and Slash

Gear should have EVA-ATK-DEF-CH-ATK. Void is not a big thing with Shadow Walker. Doesn’t help her much.

Passive skills points should be put into concealment and one into HP.

Special skills that are utterly necessary:

Skyjump

Ghost Walk (allows you to conceal yourself for 4 seconds after an attack)

Escape artist (increases your EVA and Void)

Miss Misery

Accuracy

This completes our class guides. Next we’ll cover PvP

Spawn Camping and Camping in Enemy Base

Last week I brought up the mention of Forever 29’s as a problem in Scarlet Blade. Well, this is the same problem now changed to something different. It’s call ‘Spawn Camping’ and ‘Base Camping.’

What is this you may ask? This is when two or more ridiculously strong Forever 29’s mech up and just stay in either Royal Guard or Free Knight base for anywhere from 5-10 minutes straight. This means anyone killed will respawn in the case-as usual-and immediately die again.

This is so wrong in many ways.

First off, it gives a person a chance to ‘rank point farm’ off players who haven’t a chance in hell of standing up to them. Last night I watched some of our FK do that. And it’s the same bunch I wrote about last night. Now I get it that you’re mad someone from RG came onto our chat and talked trash. That’s one thing…camping their base to just bully them is another.

It’s why no one likes this group.

Secondly, it forces RG to stay in their base, which prevents solo players like me from being able to get kills and complete the ‘killing enemy arkana’ quest. I admit my arkana doesn’t have the highest level equipment, which forces me to be sneaky, brutal and a 1v1 fighter…to each his own.

But to load up on high gear and then just bully your way into the enemy base doesn’t make you ‘tough’ or ‘bad’ it makes you a prick. Chalk up another reason why the group on our side isn’t liked.

And I’m sure there are people who will tell me ‘then make your arkana better.’ Well, one can’t when the bunch hogs every major boss they can. That prevents others from being able to get tough enough to be able to make runs at the RG or FK chest.

Once again, Aeria looks the other way while Valkyrie server continues to die. Smaller players don’t want to come in because they’ll be mauled. I’ve gotten to where I try to stick to 26-29 when I kill someone but it’s hard to tell the difference via HP. If I see a 23 or 24 or 25 dog tag floating after the kill, then I’ll leave that person alone.

Granted, I understand Aeria is in business to make money and these folks probably buy stuff from Aeria. I get that. However, to turn a blind eye while folks are screwed over is poor management.

Once again, another problem to be fixed that won’t be.

What’s Wrong With Scarlet Blade

Today I entered a battlefield named Janus. There were ten of us versus the 9 for the Royal Guard. They had a medic and we didn’t, but it wouldn’t have made a damn bit of difference. In the end, the score was RG 165 FK (US) 5. Want to know why?

It’s very easy, it’s called the ’29’s forever.’ What that means are players who will do everything in their power to stay level 29 or lower so they can own Caergate and be “dominant” over the smaller players. There’s three guilds between the RG and FK side that do this. Arcane Fury, Endurers and Red Bull. I will touch on each on later.

What made the battle so unfair is that each of the 29’s had unique equipment, boosting their health points, strike points and damage dealt to levels that us 25-27’s couldn’t have matched in a million years. Hell would’ve frozen over before we could beat them.

Which now brings me to the subject of guilds. I’m going to start with Red Bull. They are in Caer on the FK side, and are the biggest bunch of pricks I have ever seen in any game. If there’s a Titan (Caergate world boss) they go in mass to attack it and grab any of the unique weapons that drop. Their excuse for their behavior is: “No one wants to hunt the boss, all they want to do is attack RG base.” That might’ve been at one point, but now that argument is bullshit. Hear me Red, I’m calling you out as being full of shit-yes you heard it right.

Why do I call it bullshit? Because no one can get anywhere near Titan if they wanted to. How can you when 6-8 Red Bull are all over it? Drops from Titan are based off how much damage you dish out, and when you’ve got 8 versus 2 or 3 and the 8 have unique weapons…well you see the point.

What makes things worse is the RB has now created a RG guild called Yellow Bull. What they’re doing now is they’ll hit the RG chest with Red Bull, getting the good gear, and then switch the YB and hit the FK and get all the good stuff then. How is this any kind of sportsmanship? It’s not. Having coached before, I can tell you it’s nothing akin to cheating. However, I’ve always said most of RB are limp dicked no life people anyway. Why else do you feel the need to dominate a stupid game if you’re not?

Arcane and Endurers, though, are just as bad. They do the same things on the RG side.

Now, how is this a problem? Let me list the reasons:

  1. Prevents others from getting top notch gear
  2. Keeps smaller/newer players from getting stronger.

The same RB bunch has told someone I know that they’ve been drying up the auction house of any good rare equipment, leaving the shit for the newbies to have. Once again, how is this fair and balanced? It’s not, It’s just jackasses being jackasses.

Now, the GM’s at Aeria can ignore me if they want, but I’ll tell it like is. My first Bachelor’s is in Sports Management, which concerns sports entertainment. The Entertainment sector of business is the same whether it’s sports or video games. If the event isn’t fun and entertaining, the attendance will dry up and the money too. That’s what’s happening on Valky. People are getting sick to shit of the bullshit being done by the groups and nothing being done about it. And until it is, the server will continue to die.

Ignore it at your own risk, Aeria.
